CIVIL ENGINEER

As a part of the BASF Group, Wintershall AG has worldwide activities in the exploration, production and transportation of oil and natural gas.

Wintershall-Libya, a subsidiary of Wintershall AG, is an E&P company in Libya operating the C-96 and C-97 concessions. The company produces oil and gas from 7 fields in the Sirte basin.

Wintershall-Libya’s head office is located in Tripoli. The process facilities together with our chemical laboratory are located near the oasis of Jakhira some 400 km south of Benghasi. The company operates a work schedule of 4 weeks in the desert and 4 weeks home.

Wintershall has a successful record of more than 25 years of operational experience in this area - in all our activities our care for people and the environment plays an important role.

Wintershall-Libya invites applications for the post of Civil Engineer at our Jakhira facility in concessions C-96 and C-97.


MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The Civil Engineer is responsible for the control and supervision of civil works within the Wintershall facilities in Libya performed by a contractor. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 Ensure that the execution of the works will be always done in compliance with all HSE policies and processes of Wintershall.
 Supervise contractors and ensure that all construction works in accordance with the agreed scope of work and the approved standards.
 Monitoring and reporting the progress of the project against the approved execution schedule after completion of works.
 Takes care for delivery of updated drawings and their implementation into the archive system for all project related activities.
 Provide field support for technical knowledge and logistics.
 Supports the development of an effective work environment within the project team and other departments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Libyan National
• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering
• A minimum of 10 years experience in design and construction of projects
• Have the knowledge, skill and experience in working with contracts and able to develop specifications for civil construction works
• Have experience in the design, supervision and commissioning of electrical, water supply, sewage, heating and air conditioning systems in connection with buildings
• Relevant experience preferably in the Oil & Gas industry
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluent written and spoken Arabic and English
